Creating Common Scenery
Workshop by Lara Ruiz for the participatory project in the public space
In this workshop you will have the opportunity to work with the artist Lara Ruiz on the transformation of our urban space in Luxembourg. In dialogue with the artist, you will learn more about her work and actively participate in the creation of an artwork for public space.
Lara Ruiz's artistic practice is concerned, among other things, with involving the local population in shaping the spaces in which they live. Inspired by Luxembourg's international diversity, the artist invites the participants of the workshop to take part in the creation of new floor tiles, which will then be installed as a collective work of art in Luxembourg's public space. This floor, with its diverse patterns (inspired by pavements and patterns from all over the world), is both a reflection of the Luxembourgish population and a common basis for a future yet to be shaped.
