Children and families

Convinced that contemporary art can be appreciated from a very young age, we offer a programme suitable for all. Whatever the age of our young visitors, whether they come alone or accompanied, we do everything in our power to ensure that each child can broaden their horizons. That is why our activities always place the child at the heart of creation in order to stimulate his sense of observation, his inventiveness and his autonomy.

The big kids’ workshop (6-12 years)

Always linked to the current exhibitions, the activities are renewed each week, focusing on an artistic technique or an aspect of the exhibition. The Saturday workshops are for children aged 6 to 12.

The first Sunday of the month: the little kids’ workshop (3-6 years)

For our youngest visitors, we offer a workshop every first Sunday of the month based on that of the “big kids”. It allows a first approach to an exhibition site in the company of parents.

Participation: 6 € per child / free with the Kulturpass.

Reservations can be made online. Please refer to the agenda and select the workshop of your choice.

Holiday workshops

During the school holidays, we offer themed workshops over a day, from 9:00 to 16:30. Led by artists, these workshops are intended to develop a project over a longer period with the aim to awaken children’s interest in contemporary creation and to encourage them to carry out their own artistic projects.

Participation: 14 € per child / 12 € with the KLIK-Kaart / 1,50 € with the Kulturpass.

Lunch break from 12:00 to 13:30, supervised by a member of the Casino team.

Children’s birthdays

Celebrate your birthday at Casino? An original idea!

This is an opportunity for your child and his or her friends to discover the exhibitions at Casino Luxembourg and to venture into the world of contemporary art. Accompanied by two art mediators, the children participate in a guided tour of the exhibition on display. After the visit, they can take part in practical workshop of their choice:

1. Lightpainting: Children discover light painting, a technique based on long exposure photography. In the dark, the children draw or write with light.

2. Paper flower: With wood, cardboard and coloured paper, children make giant flowers bloom at Casino.

3. Greenscreen : The children become familiar with the cinematic tool of the green screen. With the help of background images, they experiment with different contexts and project themselves into new scenarios.

4. Stencil art: Stencilling is one of the main techniques of street art. Children experiment with shapes and colours by making their own stencils.
