TUBE.PHOTO.DASH

TUBE.PHOTO.DASH offers an original return between two essential formats in photographic production: the book and the exhibition space. While the first offers a horizontal and intimate reading, the second invites a vertical and collective reading. The book is an extension of this approach, linking the works on show with their installation in space, and following a meticulous editorial approach.
Since 2023, Théophile Calot has been inviting artists such as Julie Carreyn, Bertrand Cavalier, Wade Guyton, Batia Suter, Rebecca Topakian and Wolfgang Tillmans to the delpire & co bookshop as part of a programme of exhibitions focusing on the notions of verticality and horizontality in the image. Each exhibition is linked to one or more books, and to the notion of publication, and takes over the walls, tables, drawers and façade of 13, rue de l'Abbaye.
The book was published on the occasion of the eponymous exhibition at Casino Luxembourg – Forum d’art contemporain, during the European Month of Photography in 2025, as well as in Paris, at delpire & co.
All the works presented in the exhibition are reproduced in the publication horizontally, at a scale of 1:1. The image is therefore the actual size of the work. As a result, many of the works are truncated in one detail.
The exhibition is documented in its entirety, work by work, in the recommended order for the visit. The photos were taken on 14 May 2025, the day before the opening of the exhibition in Paris, and show only a certain reality. During the five months of the exhibition, some of the works will evolve, deteriorate or disappear.
