Mémoire coloniale luxembourgeoise

Artist(s)
Richtung22

In the framework of Stronger than memory and weaker than dewdrops

In 2020 the Black Lives Matter movement opened the debate on colonialism in Europe. One of the questions asked was how to address the past and make amends, if such a thing is still possible. A question that also affects Luxembourg, which has its share of settlers and sympathisers, but whose troubled past is often overlooked.

Richtung22 is a collective of young artists producing satirical films and theatre plays. Creative criticism is also being issued through monuments, artistic actions and campaigns, a radio show and several smaller initiatives, always with the main goal of launching important discussions. Through these methods, the collective wants to shed light on existing problems and tries to sever art from its elitist ties.
