Museum Night 2025

From 17:00 until 01:00, the 24rd edition of the Museum Night awaits you with a special programme of performances, music, workshops, special guided tours, and culinary surprises in the seven participating museums in Luxembourg-City. In order to facilitate the nightly tour, free shuttles are available.

PROGRAMME

Bubble Wrap Print
Open workshop with Sam Krack & Mehdi Zion

17:00 - 22:00 (ongoing)

In their pop-in workshop at the Casino Aquarium, artists Sam Krack and Mehdi Zion invite visitors to discover an original printing technique based on bubble wrap. This packaging and protective material becomes a reproduction matrix. Each small air bubble leaves its mark, contributing to a collective mural.

Sam Krack continues his exploration of materials that are otherwise mainly used behind the scenes. In doing so, he highlights the less visible moments between two exhibitions, a time when something is deconstructed in order to rebuild it differently.

Between material and motif, imprint and graphic play—leave your mark on this collaborative creation!

Guided tour of the xhibition €AT with curators Nora Cristea & Vincent Schneider

19:45 (EN), duration 30’

On the occasion of Museum Night, curators Nora Cristea and Vincent Schneider invite you to an exclusive guided tour of the exhibition.

During the lockdowns of the Covid pandemic, Nora Cristea and Vincent Schneider, designers and co-curators based in Berlin, developed the online arts platform CAT (Contemporary Artist Things), with the aim of spotlighting and supporting the emerging contemporary arts scene. By hosting their exhibition €AT, Casino Luxembourg – Forum d’art contemporain is choosing to transpose this curatorial initiative into an institutional space, offering a new level of visibility to the artists involved.

€AT has been conceived of as an allegory of a dinner party, where creation and accessibility meet. Thw exhibition brings together the work of about fifty international artists in a large catalogue of limited-edition artworks available for purchase at discount prices. The artworks can be bought simply by asking at the Casino Luxembourg front desk.  The artists will receive the entire listed amount, while also contributing to the running of the online art platform.

Guided tours with the mediators (durée 30’)

17:00 & 18:30 (LU/DE), 17:30 & 23:00 (FR), 18:00 & 22:00 (EN)

During the course of the evening, our art mediators will regularly offer you deeper insights into the current exhibitions Hot Flashes and €AT.

Stand up with Jorge De Moura

19:00 & 22:30

Jorge De Moura is a self-taught composer and multi-instrumentalist.

For over twenty years, he has been playing and composing for various groups on the Paris scene, including Yodanova, Tonton Ballon, Marilux Calme et Volupté, Gandhi, Grizz-li and Trioman Orchestri.

He also appears on stage as an actor, notably in En quête, a play by Fabio Godinho presented this year at the Avignon Festival.

A multi-talented artist, he also designs interactive sound installations (La Beat Box) and wild stringed instruments for various shows, as part of the Du Grain à Moudre collective.

Jorge De Moura regularly runs workshops in schools and medical-educational institutes (IME).

Performance: Aline Bouvy, Letter to a Young Alien

20:30

Inspired by Letters to a Young Poet by Rainer Maria Rilke, this performance transposes intimate correspondence into a message addressed to an extraterrestrial recipient, a radically other figure, foreign to our codes and norms. This letter becomes the space for an unlikely exchange, both personal and universal, exploring the shifting boundaries between self and other, childhood and adulthood. Blending poetry and science fiction, Aline Bouvy interrogates otherness, gender, and bodily transformation, accompanied by a live musical performance by Late Bush. For this piece, she wears a creation by Belgian designer Marie Adam-Leenaerdt, whose garments—infused with the repurposing of everyday objects—open up a space of metamorphosis and strangeness.

Performance: Marco Godinho, The Hidden Library

17:00 – 21:30, Location: "InfoLab" library

For the Museum Night 2025, Marco Godinho is publicly activating his project The Hidden Library, installed in the InfoLab library of Casino Luxembourg.

Throughout the evening, the artist invites visitors to come and meet him for a one-on-one exchange: a moment of intimacy, dialogue, closeness and shared presence. Through this performative action, each encounter becomes unique and unpredictable, with respect and attention for the other, sometimes also with the anticipation that comes with the desire to meet.

This time offered and shared together opens up a space of closeness and trust. Over the course of these fifty encounters, the artist offers each participant one of the photographs included in the books, a gesture of offering that marks the symbolic end of the project at the Casino Luxembourg. In this ritual of sharing and dismantling the project, the images leave the exhibition space to take on other destinies, invisibly connecting all the people encountered during the evening. Thus, The Hidden Library is transformed into a network, a geography of intimate connections, woven by presence, shared time and gift-giving.

Concert: S-Dez

21:30 (duration: 40')

Originally from Moselle, S-Dez is a 25-year-old rap artist.

She took her first steps in rap through hip-hop dance and continued to draw inspiration from this musical style throughout her teenage years. For more than five years now, she has been writing her own songs, inspired by the French-speaking underground scene.

Through her unique lyrics and melancholic, dark and aggressive songs, she expresses her inner feelings and personal struggles, constantly searching for inner peace.

Concert: Nicool

23:15 (duration: 40')

Signed to local label De Läbbel, Nicool released her debut album Ufank vum N in 2019, followed by several successful singles, such as Stolz, which climbed the Luxembourg charts. In 2023, she released her EP N vun der Welt and continued to perform on stages across the country, while enjoying regular media coverage.

In her lyrics, Nicool advocates open-mindedness and transparency, with a touch of self-deprecation and subtle criticism of the society in which she lives — all tinged with humour. For her, emotions are the guiding thread of her writing, allowing her to juggle her career as a psychotherapist with her artistic endeavours with ease.

Concert: C’est Karma

00:15 (duration: 40')

For C’est Karma, music has always been a tool for change. From her turbulent beginnings with her punk band at the age of 14 to her bold hyperpop-infused EP, Amuse-Bouche (2022), Karma has pursued her career with her hand on her heart and her fist raised. An activist, but also an avant-garde musician and keen observer of popular culture, Karma Catena places socially conscious storytelling and sonic experimentation at the centre of her artistic approach.

On her first album, how to peel an orange (2024), at just 22 years old, she weaves narratives inspired by her revolutionary ancestors and sends messages of support to marginalised populations.

After first shows in North America and tours opening for artists such as Tove Lo and UCHE YARA across Europe, C'est Karma went on touring to promote her album on international stages.

The young musician has received praise from prestigious media outlets such as Rolling Stone, GQ, ELLE and The Line Of Best Fit, and has collaborated with renowned platforms such as Canal+ and La Blogothèque.
