Ibrahim R. Ineke – Black Air

Ibrahim R. Ineke is a painter, writer and comic book artist based in The Hague. Black Air is a facsimile of his art book that accompanies the group exhibition of the same name in which he took part.

Ibrahim R. Ineke's drawings depict a symbolic cosmology of human and non-human interactions with black air. His painting Static Agent, featured in the exhibition, showed a masked figure - the protagonist of the novel - in front of a background of shimmering ochre and gold colours, depicting a landscape at the foot of a mountain under an indigo sky. This ‘voluntary perceptive agent’ personifies the creative act, the desire to interact with potential energy and become a transmitter of black air.
