in the framework of the exhibition Sound without Music

We take a step back and return to magnetic music. In this workshop we deal with magnetic tapes, music to touch. We will record interesting sounds from the environment on tape machines, cut the tapes and glue them together again. We will create our own tapeloops with different tools, from rhythmic soundscapes, electronic sounds or spoken sounds.

We'll also learn about Delia Derbyshire's revolutionary work at the BBC, decades before cassettes and Walkmans became part of youth culture. And we look at the actual magnetic data on the tapes.

A new look at an old medium.
